Madonna

Have you ever watched your best friend die (what for)
Have you ever watched a grown man cry (what for)
Some say that life isn't fair (what for)
I say that people just don't care (what for)
They'd rather turn the other way (what for)
And wait for this thing to go away (what for)
Why do we have to pretend (what for)Some day I pray it will end

This certain verse from Madonna’s song, “In this Life”, exemplifies that Madonna is not just about looks and entertaining others. She genuinely demonstrates respect towards life and the surprises it brings us. I would have thought that she’s just another pop star, but this verse has made me realize that she is very intelligent and not so much self-centered. It’s evident that she knows the more importance to life than how her hair looks when she’s walking down Hollywood Boulevard. Madonna has set a positive example on young pop stars of this generation. Madonna's look and manner of dress, portrayed in photographs, live performances and music videos, became increasingly influential among young girls and women. Defined by lace tops, skirts over capri pants, fishnet stockings, jewelry bearing the Christian cross, and bleached hair. This style became an iconic female fashion trend in the 1980’s. Madonna was the first female pop star to have complete control of her music and image. To this day, she is still very popular and releasing top tanked albums.
